Western Mass Tradeswomen were proud to participate in the annual event put on by Franklin County Technical School (FCTS) to introduce first year female students to women in the construction and manufacturing fields. The event is organized to offer exposure to career opportunities as a tradeswoman as the girls are making their decision in selecting a shop to study in High School. 336 Carpenter and FCTS graduate Lily Thompson was quoted in the article: “It’s just one of those fantastic things to give the ninth graders exposure to all the possibilities of what’s out there, within the trades,” Thompson said. “The money’s fantastic, the mentality of being in trades has changed … We’re much more inclusive, and in western Mass. we have a thriving network of ladies all in the trades, out there to help each other.”
